Dear Freddy, As a young Goan in the 60's I had no choice but be forced to learn some foreign languages namely marathi and urdu (I lived in Goa only). We were punished in school for indulging in concani. Moreover the greatness of sambaji and shivaji was drummed into our heads. Our iconic figures such as Saint Francis Xavier was never spoken about. nehru and gandhi who have no links to Goa were our leaders. Goa is in turmoil today because of the bharati invasion. Why did you leave the favela in Brasil? Could you not handle it any more. If you had the patience to continue you could have been a good football player, at least making your living in Portugal with a Portuguese passport. (Just my opinions) B.
