You produce a quote stating that Hillary thanked Dr. C. Everett Koop for his help, I produce a quote stating that none of the 511 members of the task force was a Doctor or a Nurse. If NONE of the members of the task force was a Doctor or a Nurse, it was done, in my view, without their participation. After all, what Doctor would agree to a 15 year jail sentence for a colleague who treats a patient outside of the Bureaucracy? Would YOU? Neither would Dr. Koop, I bet.
WRT to "no health coverage" for the poor, this is my response: EVERYONE in the US is eligible for free health CARE at public hospitals - General Hospital in LA, San Francisco General in SF, etc. There is a difference between health COVERAGE and health CARE. Only Hillary was politically naive (read: DUMB) enough to believe that Congress would be so foolish as to create an enormous (14% of the total budget) government bureaucracy and place it between the poor and their doctors.
