Dear Goanetters,

These are the kinds of messages that are difficult to
forward...but forward we must, if only to let you know that we
have one less Goan heroine down here and one more up there...

This is the message we got from Malvina Athaide's (nee
Cordeiro) family.

We pass it on, unedited...

In solidarity with all her family and friends who had the
privilege to be enriched by her spirit.

Muriel & Mario.

It's with the heaviest of hearts that I inform you of the passing
of our dearest Malvina. She left us very peacefully, ending her
long struggle, and going to a place where she will still watch
over us. Thank you all for your prayers, caring and love.

Dileep, Jacinta, Lucas and Olivia, and all Malvina's family.

MALVINA ATHAIDE
11 May 1955 - 25 September 2004

love. She will always remain a part of us.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light; and
where there is sadness, joy.

Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled
as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and in dying that we are born to eternal life.

St. Francis of Assisi
