THE IFFI-2004 is coming up, and accreditations for the same are being done from
New Delhi. According to the PIB's Esther Kar (Director-Press Relations,
telephoen 2338 35 45 in Delhi) to facilitate coverage of the festival, special
accreditation will be gratned to film critics/correspondents and news
camerapersons.
The application in enclosed proforma "complete in all respect, together with
the newspaper clippings of the last three years bearing the by-line of your
representative(s)" and three recent issues of your magazines, two photographs
bearing the name on the reverse, is to be sent to Bhupendra Kainthola,
Information Officer (Press Facilities), Press Information Bureau, Room No 115,
A Wing, Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi 110001 (tel 2338 66 02) latest by September
25, 2004".

Says PIB Delhi, "Accommodation and other stay arrangements for media at Goa are
in great demand during the period and it would be advisable to do the booking
well in advance".
The PIB has circulated a list of hotels where accomodation is available on a
'special package' for nine nights and ten days per couple on a CP basis for the
IFFI 2004, from November 29 till December 12.
Reflecting the hiked-up rates anticiapted for this season, the GTDC's "city
delight" categories (Margao, Mapusa and Annexe) are charging Rs 4962 for the
period (non-airconditioned) and Rs 7240 (airconditioned). The "coastal
attraction" package for nine nights and ten days per couple will cost Rs 7262
(non-ac) and Rs 9484 (airconditioned).
The PIB has also suggested private hotels which "have furnished their rates"
for the corresponding period per couple on a CP basis, including Delmon, Blue
Bay, Menino Hotel, Prinha Cottages, Park Plaza, Mandovi, Nova Goa, Campal Beach
Resort, Solmar, Bambolim Beach Resort, Villa Sol Ashwin Resorts, Dona Paula
Beach Resort O Pescador, Hotel El Paso, Hotel Goa International, Hotel Gopika,
and other smaller hotels scattered across the state.
It appears that there could be a logistical nightmare transporting people from
one part of the state to Panjim, if the state expects journalists to be staying
at Ponda or Margao and covering the IFFI. FN
