VEERAPPAN IS KILLED BY STF Veerappa the Maha Chandan Chor is killed today night (Monday night 18-10-2004) by joint operation of Special Task Force police of TamilNadu and Karanataka state at Papparapatti village of Dharmapuri district in Tamil Nadu in a Twenty minutes ecounter. Perhaps the best sandalwood smuggler in the history of mankind, it's estimated that Veerappan has killed 120 people, mostly policemen and forestry officials. An entire industry has developed around the attempt to capture the fugitive smuggler. But mostly he is known for the brazen kidnapping of Rajakumar, India's foremost moviestar. And for his magnificent kattabomman moustache.
