Q 1: Does 7.5mins. pulse mean that when on the internet during peak hours, we are charged ( on our telephone bill) Re.1/- for 7.5 mins. use?

Hi Marie, That's what I too understood by Sandeep's post which was forwarded by me to Goanet. Incidentally the pulse rate could vary, and be upto Rs 1.25 (if I'm not wrong), depending on how many calls you make, what plan you subscribe to, etc. It could also be less than a rupee.


Q 2: I keep getting disconnected every couple of minutes, sometimes even within less than a minute. That means I pay Re. 1/- for everytime i get re-connected. What re-dress can i get for this?

That's right, subject to the 'pluse-rate-doesn't-necessarily-equal-Rs1' rider above.


It seems that you have a serious problem with either your (noisy?) telephone line or phone exchange in Aldona. You need to isolate your fault. Try and find out if other users in your area too face the problem of the phone-line getting disconnected "every couple of minutes".

This really shouldn't be happening!

In an ideal/average case, you should be able to surf or download e-mail for at least a couple of hours without getting disconnected. Maybe a rare disconnect once in a way or so. Surely not every two minutes!

If this is a problem affecting you alone in your locality, then you'll need to get it sorted out with your software support person and/or your local telephone exchange. If a number of people are facing this very same issue in your exchange (which I don't think is the issue, since I've not heard of such problems from others on Aldona-Net), then it could possibly be a wider exchange fault.

There was a time when the Aldona exchange wasn't properly synchronised (?) with the Internet setup. But I think that was sorted out long back. FN
