Chris I too thought your attack on Tariq uncalled for. You say you have apologized and I hope Tariq is able to let it roll off his back. Things are not always what they seem. You may be unaware of this but Tariq was raised in Goa. His father was a very highly respected geologist who until his premature death was the Director of the National Institute of Oceanography in Dona Paula. He worked very hard and perhaps at the cost of his health and family to make the Geology division of the Institute a very well recognized place for research on every aspect of marine geology. He procured a large sum of money to explore deep sea minerals in the Indian Ocean and hired young scientists from all over India some of who in turn have become independent researchers and hired and trained many young Goan graduates from the Goa University. Goans now come in a variety of names like Siddique, Shastry and Swami. Like the spectrum of American names from Obama to Oliveira. --Helga do R. Gomes > > Tariq-- > > I stand by my statement.
