They like to think of themselves as more educated an "progressive", which is why the Democrats chose a supercilious candidate like John Kerry, and they will continue to lose elections. If you look at the electoral map BY COUNTY you will see that it's NOT red states versus blue states but major urban centers versus everyone else. So maybe it will be a win-win situation. We don't need people with such attitudes and Canada will get people who think of themselves as more educated and progressive.
