Big Hi!!! to all civilised people.
A friend asked me today what irony means.
"Have you seen Panjim by night?" I asked him.
"Oh, it's incredible," he said and spoke about the
magic of a magician called Mr Parrikar for full ten
minutes with nothing but awe in his eyes.
Then I told him about an even more incredible place
(not in Xanadu) but in Canacona, Goa called Keri.
Well Keri is a village in Canacona. No motorable or
even cycleable road to go there. You have to walk a
good THREE hours(3 hours make no mistake there) to get
there from Nadkem in Cotigao.
No primary school (need I add that there is no middle
or high school), no power supply, forget water supply,
phone? you must be joking.
The Keri people are a century behind civilisation.
I would love a copy of this mail in the hands of all
the delegates and tourists visiting the IFFI fest.
What do you people think?
Well I am sure the first question would be what did
the Congress do?
Come on guys forget the US, Iraq, Palestine and all
that out-of-place rubbish, let's talk about Goa, Goans
and the Goan politicians.
BTW Mr Parrikar reminds of some people in my village
(Galgibaga) who have the most sophisticated gadgets in
their houses but no toilets. Never mind we have
Galgibaga beach and Galgibaga river and on the eastern
side there is a small hillock. The three together make
a toilet non-pareil.
It a matter of priorities folks.
Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will celebrate another
Liberation Day very soon on 19 December.
Perhaps Nehru was right: Ye Goa ke log ajeeb hai. Ha!
