Regardless of Norway's wish full thinking, Goanetters will never be a part of a mob. We are a very organised crowd across the world. A self styled, so called journalist from chilly Norway should not get us wrong.
If word`s don't count much in a world where plots, lies and corruption is a part of the public life, three's always a better place to go where your actions will tell the truth. The facts of the Ribandar case have just begun emanating. The priest has found the wrong source of defense in the so called self-style-journalist from overseas who would have loved to be a lawyer of lost causes trying to defend a person who allegedly molested a minor girl. With a muzzled press its only pamphlets that are distributed in the village, exposing names and exposing the culprits that will say it all. The alleged victim girls' family is in mourning. The victim and the mother go and complain to the police against the Parish Priest. On the basis their complaint an F.I.R is registered against the accused priest. Later we are told that the mother invites the accused Priest to come home and bless her house. Than she writes to the CM of Goa that the priest is innocent. Norway Times says she even sent her daughter to the Children's Court to tell the same, not even being summoned. Wait till she is summoned or jailed for being another Zaheera of Best Bakery fame. The silence by the Church continues to spoil the reputation of the Priest , the reputation of his own Church, and the reputation of the minor girl. On 7th of January 2005, the day the Children`s Court disallowed the private criminal complaint filed by the uncle of the victim against the priest. It is said that the girl's family was celebrating with fireworks. What fireworks ! Was the so called self styled Norwegian journalist crying Shame, shame, shame or was he graciously buried in grief with the Tsunami tragedy which hopefully did not wipe off the Ribandar molestation case ashore. A last and always request to the moderators of Goanet when a man coming all the way from Norway and has sacrificed his own self-respect and balance we have nothing to loose but to support him. May be joining him in throwing not so heavy stones against the irregularities in our religious shrines may open his eyes to reality. Reality hurts in Goa, Norway may be a soothing alternative. Weather wise atleast! Aires Rodrigues Ribandar
