BSNLGOA is launching its Broadband Services as a part of BSNL policy in major cities of Goa very shortly. These services will be provided on existing copper infrastructure.
Initially, High Speed Internet Service will be provided. Subsequently, other services such as VPN, Multicasting, Video Conferencing, Video-on-Demand, Broadcast application etc will be added. It is an always on high speed internet connections with a distinctive feature to enable the subscriber to surf the net and have a phone conversation simultaneously. Broadband services will be launched in itially from Panjim, Patto, Mapuca, Calangute, Margao, Fatorda, Aquem and Verna areas. Depending on the volume of booking, the service will be started in other exchange areas. The minimum requirement for getting broadband connection is to have BSNL's B-fone connection. BSNL will offer separate tariff packages for home and business. The home users can avail band width of minimum download speed of 256Kbps at Rs 500 per month without security deposit while business users will have to shell out Rs.1200 monthly with 2 months rental as security deposit.
