Dear Alumni,
Welcome to the Guardian Angel family! All of us have
studied at some point of time and for some years at
Guardian Angel�s, Curchorem, whether in the High
School or in the Higher Secondary or in the Guardian
Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering
Technology. We all are comrades in arms. We share the
same spirit of Guardian Angel. It is this spirit that
has inspired us and goaded us on all these years right
from our school days. It is this spirit that has
landed us where we are now and made us what we are
today. You will surely agree with me that this same
spirit runs through us and continues to inspire us.
Many of us have excelled after leaving Guardian
Angel�s and have tasted the good times. Many of us are
holding good positions and have reached the pinnacle
of professional glory in various facets of life. We
have doctors and nurses architects, advocates, judges,
politicians, musicians, dramatists and playwrights,
artists, singers, journalists, businessmen and women,
priests and nuns, estate managers, army personnel,
technicians, computer experts, software and hardware
experts, teachers and principals, sportsmen and women,
sailors, hoteliers, and you can name it all. We also
have many more who are still looking out for
placements and jobs and are struggling in life.
The school continues to do the good work and we all
feel proud to have been a part of all that�s happened
and is happening and will happen at Guardian Angel�s.
We have received a rich inheritance from the teachers
and the school, which has made an indelible mark on
our personal lives. We may have been mischievous and
may have been even punished severely for it. In our
hearts of hearts we do know and realize the lasting
impact that all this has made in the flowering of our
personalities.
So united under the same banner and protection of
Guardian Angel, let us do our bit for the betterment
of our alumni and our Alma Mater too. Let us utilize
our expertise and experience and share it with our
younger generation. Let us forge a grand reunion and
come together as often as we can. Our gratitude can be
shown in joining this new venture. Fr Aurelio, Fr
Frank, Fr Andrew and Fr Henry have taken this
initiative and we have had our first meet on 29th
January 2005 in the School Hall. Though handful
attended, we have imitated the process of establishing
the first ever Guardian Angel Alumni Association
comprising of all past students of all the educational
institutions in this educational complex.
We have made a very small but strong beginning. The
first meet has already selected an Ad hoc Committee
comprising of Dr Jagdish Kakodkar, Associate
Professor, Goa Medical College, Bambolim, Mr John
Fernandes, APO, Quepem, Mr. Vijay Naik, Grade I
Teacher Guardian Angel Higher Secondary, Ms Vidhya
Acharya, Lecturer, Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel
Management and Catering Technology, Mr. Nelson
Fernandes, Clerk, Guardian Angel High School and Mr
Shasank Raiker, presently a college student. They have
been entrusted the task of framing the aims and
objectives and the constitutions of the new
Association.
Another general body meeting is fixed for the 26th
February 2005 in the school hall. Let us attend in
large numbers and discuss the matter threadbare. It is
expected that the first Executive Body/Governing Body
will be elected on this day and to give a big start to
this association. So take your diaries and fix your
date at Guardian Angel�s without fail. Let�s make this
working and not like the short-lived ones of the past.
