Parrikar to file petition in SC today: [India News]: New Delhi, Feb.11 : The former chief minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar, will file a petition in the Supreme Court on Friday afternoon seeking an explanation about the dismissal of his government a week ago by the state's Governor, S C Jamir. In his petition, Parrikar is likely to seek the reinstatement of the BJP government in Goa and a declaration of the Governor's action as malafide, arbitrary and out of the perview of his powers'' and hence be declared ''null and viod''. "My lawyers would be filing the petition in the Supreme Court. We are seeking of course, reinstatement of the government and declaration that the Governor's action was malafide. Since it was an arbitrary action, Fundamental Rights would also come into the picture," Parrikar said. The BJP is supporting the case in toto. The party changed its earlier decision of filing a petition in the Panaji bench of Bombay High Court. Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Goa Assembly, Vishwas Satarkar, is also expected to give his decision on Friday regarding the reply sent by Sebastian Zumvu, the OSD to the Governor, related to the complaint against him of contempt of the House and breach of privilege.
