Gilbert 1 : Why did Fred and other protests the Goa VCD?
JC 1 : I am not entirely sure that Fred protested against the Goa-VCD. If it was anybody who alerted us early about the VCD - it was Godfrey Gonsalves (2003), and Miguel Braganza who made the first solid and sustained noise about this distorted piece of garbage marketed as HISTORY.
Here are some other comments (no surprises)
(a) Sandeep Heble: The implications of deliberate attempts to “suppress” history are dangerous in many ways
(b) Praveen Shanbag: I feel that the controversy over the documentary film is uncalled for
(c) JM Almeida: I believe that the CD has been doctored to inflame communal tensions and destroy the secular fabric of Goa
I will tell you why I would have protested against the VideoCD - IF I was living in Goa.
The bogus piece of crapola
1. was presented as factual history - not fiction 2. was mandated to be compulsory viewing by school age students 3. was paid for from the Goa Treasury 4. was INACCURATE

JC: Documentaries are held to a different standard than fictional films. Have you read The Davinci Code? It gained zero credibility among the well aware......because it was fiction (with a few bits and pieces of facts).

JC: Message of VCD - the Portuguese and Catholics BAD BAD BAD folks; RSS beshtest.
Message of SINS (from reports) - Catholic priests are human beings - they also fall in love.
