Today's TOI had a graphic about state-wise foreign tourists in 2003. Goa with 314 thousand is placed 8th neck and neck with Kerala with 295 thousand. Immediately ahead is AP with 479 thousand.
The demand for foreign tourism to Goa may be pent up and would easily double or even triple if Goa simply had proper aviation facilites and connections. Currently over 90% of seasonal charter flights to India are accounted for by Goa.
