<can't help note that Dabolim is simply behind the times in many respects. The painful part is that the blokes who run Dabolim seem not to know how advanced other small airports are which cater for tourists.>[Cornel Dacosta, May 8] The "blokes" you speak of are none other than our right royal (note l/c!) Navy! You see, they are used to the cramped space of aircraft carriers so the 11,000 foot runway of Dabolim is a real luxury! They are simply drooling over the potential military value of this huge airfield. Trouble is no big-time military mission is visible over the horizon. So they keep busy playing dog in the manger! What to do?
