Goa Sudharop presents the "Heart 2 Heart Silent Auction" of Baked Goodies and Snacks at its 5-year anniversary celebration on July 3, 2005 (Sunday)!
Net proceeds will benefit low-income and underprivileged Goan children at the “YUG-NAYAK” school in Mandrem, Pernem Taluka, Goa. This is a special invitation and opportunity for children of all ages to celebrate the 'Year of the Child' at Goa Sudharop’s "Get to Know Goa" fund-raising event in Oakland, California at Samuel Merritt College on July 3. This is an opportunity for OUR children to reach out to the hearts of the children in Goa through their love, caring and awesome talent in baking. We ask that children of all ages donate their deserts and snacks by 4:30pm on Sunday July 3rd. You can bake cookies, brownies, cakes or celebrate your culture by making Goan sweets! These are just suggestions, feel free to make whatever you like. Each child may stand by their product and explain how they made it. Judges will be present to award prizes to the children at random. This is an excellent opportunity for students to earn credit towards community service & volunteer requirements and help a good cause. Simply tell us how much time you put into your desert or snack and you will receive credit. You may also sign up to be part of the decoration and set up team for additional hours.
