Dear Mr/Ms Fernandez,
Firstly I would like to thank you for mentioning my name in the same breath
as a real champion of the Konkani movement, Fausto, and a cyber guru like Fred.
Unfortunately I am in a different league all together. Much lower down the
pole. But just yesterday a cyber Goan wrote to me that my ' pedagogy ' is
very sound. After looking it up in the dictionary I realised what that
means is I am a good teacher.
Some weeks back on request from a few Cyber Goans I decided to write a
simple Konkani tutor of my own. It would be merely introductory but
uniquely so. I would attempt to teach a bit of grammar and syntax by
teaching people to swear in Konkani. I even publicised my plan and asked
for expert help from a few Konkani stalwarts I know, and also asked
prospective students to write in. I got absolutely no response except for
the initial queries that spurred this project. Apparently nobody wants to
be associated, even remotely, with this project of mine. Hence I have kept
this 'Swearing in Konkani" project on the back burner for a while.
