RLL's Goa plant gets UK regulator's nod

New Delhi: Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd has received approval from Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), UK for its tablets manufacturing unit in Goa.

The company can now seek approvals through national filings and Mutual Recognition Procedures in 27 EU/EEA member states and other countries such as Australia, New Zealand and Romania.

The Goa facility also houses a cream and ointment-manufacturing block, which is approved by ANVISA, Brazil. The tablet-manufacturing unit has a capacity to produce 720 million tablets per annum.

Ranbaxy has 19 manufacturing facilities spread across seven countries which includes 10 plants in India, four dosage forms plants in the US and one dosage forms plant each in Ireland, China, Malaysia, Vietnam and Nigeria. These facilities are approved by international regulatory agencies such as USFDA, MHRA-UK, Bfarm-Germany, MCC-South Africa, ANVISA-Brazil and TGA-Australia, for a range of products. All these facilities conform and comply with GMP standards.
