New Konkani Album in Kuwait. “Suknnim”

Well known husband and wife duet of Bonny & Antonette de Calangute today released their first ever Konkani Album in the form of Audio Cassette and CD in Kuwait City. The Album consists of 12 songs, the title song “SUKNNIM” is beautifully rendered with her sweet and charming voice by the charming stage actress Antonette de Calangute. It is very philosophical and very touching and it is sung on the pattern of a Motet-like. All the songs are very interesting and worth listening. Being their maiden Album, Antonette and Bonny spared no efforts in making this Album one of the best available and as such no lover of Konkani songs should miss this album. The first song “Dothichi Faxi” is rendered by ex-Kuwait stage artiste Xavier Gomes. The second song a duet by Bonny and Antonette de Calangute “Sangatan Bhonv-ia” is worth listening by the husbands who push their vives to the Gulf. The duo of Marcus Vaz & Xavier Gomes rendered yet another interesting song “Sakrament”. Prince Jacob sings a comedy song “Ready Made Pai” while Rosary Ferns sings one of the best songs he ever composed and rendered “Vavraddi”. This is the most precious song amongst all the songs and every Goan who treasures Goan culture and tradition must make a point to listen to this songs. These are the first 6 songs of the Cassette in side “A”.

The side “B” also carries another 6 songs one by melodious singer Osvi Viegas “Bhorichem Hadd” which hits the curse of downgrading of women while new comer Amacyn Perry and Bonny sing “Bolatkar” which highlights the disgrace of Rapes on young girls in Goa which is a new phenomenon. A trio of Antonette-Cynette-Antoneta sings “Ostori”, it is a all females voice song lauding the greatness of females and also describing their woes. Very interesting song indeed! Bond Braganza sings a solo on “Plastic” where he describes the evils of Plastic. Marcus Vaz in his solo “Sakrifis” tells the difference between the life spent by older generations and the current one and finally the latest Goan sensation and youthful Veeam Bond Braganza’s “Mogan Tujea Lasotam” gives total satisfaction to the listeners of this cassette.

This Album is produced by Music House, Mapusa, Bardez, Goa and recorded at Magic Touch Studio, Margao, Salcette, Goa. Musical score is provided by Maestro Josinho.

After listening to all the songs I feel all Goans in particular and Konkani lovers in general should make a point to have this Album and listen to all the songs.

At an outset Bonny the husband of Antonette de Calangute thanks Rosary Ferns and Marcus Vaz both Kuwaikars for their enormous contribution in bringing out this Album. In a special way, Antonette and Bonny both talking to me said they are deeply grateful to Rosary Ferns for providing them all the encouragement and support to release this Album.

I wish Antonette and her husband total success in this Album.
