A Gujarati, ex-Africa friend and staunch Goanetter (she has some friends in Goa too) Kalpna Desai raised this issue in a mail. Does anyone know the answer? I think fair terms of trade are a key issue, specially when we have such a devalued rupee, whose international value in no way reflects its real domestic purchasing power... thus keeping a large section of the domestic population in really bad shape financially.
