Arlekar inspects work at electricity departments HERALD CORRESPONDENT MORMUGAO, JAN 27 - Vasco MLA Rajendra Arlekar on Wednesday visited many sites in and around Mangor Hill, Dactolem and Merces Waddo along with electricity department officials. The MLA inspected various works in progress and instructed the accompanying officials to expedite the ongoing works. Expressing satisfaction over the work by the department, Mr Arlekar visited many slum areas and asked the officials to raise the height of the existing poles, to keep the wires at a safe distance from the reach of children. There was also a proposal to install a new transformer in Dactolem, following repeated complaints of low voltage in the area. The MLA plans to visit Maimollem, Mesta Waddo and New Vaddem later in the week to inspect the works going on in those areas. The officials have promised to take up the new jobs of replacing the old poles and increase the height of the existing ones.
