Fish vendors meet minister to protest new market complex NT News Service Margao Jan 28: A group of vendors from the wholesale fish market at Maddel in Margao today met the Urban Development Minister, Mr Joaquim Alemao protesting against the government's plan to construct a new market complex in the area and house retail vendors as well. They sought a commitment from the minister that the market complex would not be constructed. Mr Alemao however told the vendors that there were a number of Goan retail vendors and that he could ask them to leave the place. The wholesale vendors then suggested that the retail vendors be instead shifted to the empty shops in the South Goa Planning and development Authority market complex and the plan for constructing the new complex be dropped. The minister has sought time till January 30 to decide upon the issue.
