MFG launches innovative employement-oriented training NT News Desk Panaji Jan 28 : Mineral Foundation of Goa (MFG) in association with Dr Reddy's Foundation (DRF), Hyderabad has successfully launched an innovative programme to provide employment-oriented training for dropouts. This three months condensed training provides employable skills in different sectors for high school, higher secondary and college dropouts which is sufficient to find a suitable job. The MFG - Livelihood Advancement Business School (MFG - LABS) programme has been very successful in north Goa and Foundation is launching second batch in South Goa at Curchorem. People from the mining belt of south Goa covering different panchayats in Sanguem taluka, Curchorem - Cacora MCL and Panchwadi panchayat can benefit from this scheme. Under this project high school, higher secondary and college dropouts (boys and girls) within age grroup of 18 to 25 years and residing in the mining belt will be trained in different skills related either to hospitality services, bed side patient assistant, customer relation services or information technology services based on their aptitude.
The four sectors for the training were identified by DRF through the detailed scan of existing market demand in Goa. The contents of these courses are also designed after consultation with the industry. This 3 month training will include 2 month of class room sessions and 1 month on job training. Classes will be conducted for full day (9.00 am to 5.30 pm) for five days in a week. In order to identify suitable candidates for this training and give more information about the project, a series of road shows are planned in each panchayat area by the foundation. Accordingly on February 10 this programme will be held in Usgaon Village Panchayat, Dharbandora Village panchayat and Sacorda Village Panchayat. On February 11, road show will be held at the Molem village panchayat, Collem village panchayat, Kalay village panchayat. Similar road show will be held in Curchorem municipality and Sanguem municipality on February 12. On Februry 13 the road show will be held in Kirlapal - Dabal Panchayat, Sanvordem panchayat and Panchwadi panchayat.The panchayats of Bhati , Wadem and Rivona will be covered on February 14. This programme is open for both boys and girls who have left their education incomplete, between 18 to 25 yrs of age and residing in mining areas of North Goa. Candidates desirous of taking benefit of this opportunity are requested to attend the Road Show in their respective panchayat on above mentioned date and time.
