I’m contacting you with the hope, that you with your
knowledge of Goa can either help me yourself or know
somebody knowledgeable about plants who can.

I am a Danish journalist, writing among other things
about gardens. I am a
frequent visitor in Goa and enjoy the flora here. There
is one plant very
common to Goa that I’m trying to find the name of – in
English and Latin. When
I talk to people, they refer to it as ‘Silk cotton’, but
I haven’t been able
to find anybody, who knows the real name.

It is difficult to describe it precisely in words, but a
photo can be found at:

Can you help me or do you know anybody, who can?

I would be very grateful for your help.

Yours sincerely
Tine Albinus
