Cuncolkars worried BY HERALD REPORTER MARGAO, MARCH 7 — The Cuncolim Citizens Action Committee has demanded that the law enforcing authorities check the influx of migrants in and around Cuncolim and come out with a white paper on the situation within a week's time. In a statement Convenor Oscar Martins and Jt Convenor, Vijaykumar Kopre Dessai, it was pointed out that the influx of migrants has increased in Cuncolim in recent times. "These migrants have taken rented residential premises, whereas many have encroached on our lands and have built permanent structures resulting in mini-colonies at Molanguinim, Zuzegal, Culvaddo, Industrial Estate area, Belathembi, Comba Paricotto, Murida, Marcut etc", they maintained. The Committee demanded that the police initiate a drive immediately to check these migrant elements and their antecedants, strongly suspecting that there might be even some Bangladeshi nationals amongst these migrants. The Committee further suspected that these migrants might have even been resorting to unlawful activities and anti-national activities. TUMCHER AXIRVAD ASSUM; DEV BOREM KORUM. Gabe Menezes.
