Dear Godfrey
I hit on your website while searching for "communidades" on the internet. I
am
writing a book which is a nostalgic and humourous account of our traditions
for the Goan in search of his roots. I try to answer such a question as Who
is
a Goan? What are his characteristics?
I found your account of the meeting very interesting. Typical of a Goan to
sleep and typical of the organisers not to have a stop gap arrangement just
in
case the speaker is delayed.
Only the last chapter of my book remains to be written. This is on
Communidades. It follows a chapter called Our Brilliant Forefathers in which
I
discuss about water conservation menthods in our village in earlier times,
the 'curs' in Indian cities, the Death Benefit Fund etc.
for the last 2 months I have been studying in detail the English version of
the communidade regulations printed by the govt press. this is the 4th time
I'm going thru the rules. I have arrived at my own conclusions. Is there any
expert lawyer or lawyers that I can approach who are experts on communidade
law? I would prefer somebody living in Panjim. And can you give me their
addresses/contact nos?
I'm currently in Australia but live in Goa.I hope to return end June. May I
request you for your telephone number? I would be interested in meeting you.
By the way the book is titled, "TUZO MAINCHO GHO"- A favourite expression of
my dad's. (Yes, I have to sit with a dictionary to get the spellings right.)
