Many thanks for your considered response to the issue of rape by Iraqi
soldiers in Kuwait in 1990. I have also heard privately about the situation
at the time in Kuwait, and quite persuasively, the possible reasons why
there may be no hard evidence for the hearsay comments on rape.
Perhaps I can pursue another point with the most reasonable guy you are! Is
there any evidence for Mario's much repeated claim of "rape rooms" in Sadaam
Hussein's Iraq? He also implies that Sadaam Husein's sons were the
'performers' in such relatively public activity with husbands and sons
forced to watch etc. Are we to believe that, Sadaam's sons really were such
great studs and up to the required task proclaimed by Mario?
The sons were known, especially the older one, for demanding favours from
young desirable women and would perhaps be unlikely to want to find the
time, nor be inclined to perform, the kind of tedious repeated 'duty' Mario
had in mind for them!
I have heard absolutely no evidence for Iraqi "rape rooms" in the media
anywhere, and we do have some pretty sharp journalists around, always
looking for a coup, and yet, Mario seems to know the 'truth'! Is this yet
another illustration of Mario's furtive imagination?
