The act of Goa police of slapping a pregnant women in Rawanfond, Margao is
truly a shameful and dadagiri act, infact this is NOT A RARE or STRAY
incident, but yet another example of their terrorism , recently one of two
police men kicked a truck driver of Karnataka registered truck for not
having the requisite documents, the young driver was kicked on his genitals
and stomach who fell unconscious for hours on the Chandravaddo-Ambhajim
byepass.
Seeing the plight of driver and act of police the local questioned and had
heated arguments with the police before they were let off by the crowd.
Has the Rane government issued instructions to the police to beat anyone and
anyhow for not possessing the vehicles documents, if the driver does not
have the document the police can obviously issue them challens or fines but
definitely not shower kicks and blows and slaps.
The chief minister should make it clear that citizens are not safe in the
hands of the police, who are meant to protect citizens and not terrorize us.
The police should use the force to detect growing cases of robbery in the
city and the cops on night patrolling should not sleep in roadside houses
petrol pumps as been done by some of the men in uniform.
