Dear Alick, I do agree with everyone regarding loss of heritage homes to builders. Many heritage house owners are reluctant to let our rooms for bed/breakfast. My maternal aunt Maria de Lourdes Figueiredo de Albquerque has converted half of her ancestral home in Loutulim into a heritage boutique hotel.
I have extensively stayed in havelis all over India, especially Gujarat, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh where people have resotred their homes into small hotels and they are absolutely wonderful.. I wish people in Goa would do the same.
