PRESS RELEASE
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Bailancho Saad,a Quiz on women was held
at Dhempe College for Higher Secondary schools and colleges with support of
Goan Observer and Dhempe College Women Cell on 23rd September.
The objective of the quiz was to celebrate the achievements of women and also to
create awareness about the issues, rights and laws .The question bank which
included audio and visuals was put together by Ms Jonquil, Shalini,Sabina and
Cristene. The quiz was conducted by Ms Sabina Martins.
21 teams from various educational instituions including professional colleges
participated. Six teams were the finalists after the preliminary round.
Ms Tammayee Dhabolkar and Mr Yashank Sakhardande of DMS Higher Secondary got
the highest scores followed by Ms Nafisa Oliveira and Ms Ankita Mishra of
Carmel Higher Secondary
There was a tie for the third place between Goa University MA and Chowgule
College.
Based on the higher scores in the preliminary round Ms Vanessa Fernandes and Ms
Sahaya Vimala of Goa University were placed ahead of Ms Doella Dsilva and Ms
Marynette Sardinha of Chowgule College.There was a round for the audience too
and prizes were given for the correct answers.
Mr Rajan Narayan, editor of Goan Observer, Ms Varsha and Rashida of Dhempe
College and Ms Vrunda Prabhu of Bailancho Saad gave away the prizes.
Mr Rajan Narayan editor of Goan Observer congratulated the students for
participating in a non competetive quiz.He also commended the BS for its work
in the last 20 years.
