Hi Victor Many thanks for your post and info. It really is wonderful to pick up this kind of information via Goanet and about Goan involvement in so many instances.
Incidentally, there is much to discover about the holocaust perpetrated by the Germans on the Africans in the then German West Africa (Angola, Namibia etc). From a good documentary, I discovered how horrific it was and how lessons were learned by the Hitler regime to engage in genocide in Europe. However, I was not aware of the tensions/fighting between the Germans and the Portuguese in Mozambique in the early part of the last century and with many Goans involved. Strangely, some of my relatives who were there, and their children never seemed to have talked about this. As there were Indians, and especially students in Germany in Hitler's time, I wonder if there are any of their records available? However, I have seen details and photographs of one of the Bose brothers with Hitler when he was seeking Axis assistance to overthrow the British in India.
