DRAFT AMENDMENT RULES
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub sections (1)
and (2) of section 35 of the Contract Labour (Regulation
and Abolition) Act, 1970 (Central Act 37 of 1970), the Government
of Goa hereby makes the following rules so as to amend the
Goa, Daman and Diu Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition)
Rules, 1972 as follows namely:-
1. Short title and commencement--(1) These rules may be called
the Goa Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Amendment)
Rules, 2006
(2) They shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of Rule 25 - In rule 25 of the Goa
Daman and Diu Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition)
Rules, 1972 in sub-rule (2), after sub-clause (d), of clause (v),
the following sub-clause shall be inserted, namely:-
"(e) The contractor shall ensure that every contract labourer
possesses the Health Card issued by the Directorate of Health
Services, Government of Goa, shall be produced on demand to
the Inspector appointed under the Act;"
All objections and suggestions to the above draft ammendment
rules may be forwarded to the Secretary (Labour), Government
of Goa,Secretariat,Porvorim, Goa before the expiry of two months
from the date of publication of the notification in the Official Gazette.
