Unfortunately I am not retired - Fortunately I have the time and the Jesuit
instilled-zeal to Promote Vocations in Salcete.
I am sure your note was no joke - but one of our IITians Fr. Francis D'Mello
(B. Tech IIT-B, Electrical Engineering, Class of 70s and Masters degree
from the US) is now the head of the Jesuits in the Western Region. In this
highly technocratic world, for the better good of the world wide Catholic
Church, may be Fr. Francis D'Mello should be fast-tracked to Bishop,
Cardinal and then Pope !
May be in the next Papal Synod we will have apna Goa Archbishop Felipe Neri
Ferrao vs apna Jesuit Francis D'Mello in the race to become Pope ! For once
(and fortunately for the bookies in London), I will have no particular
favourite in this papal horse race. Both guys are ebulliently qualified for
the Chair of St. Peter and the global church will be ready for this welcome
change ! We will really leave it to the Holy Spirit to decide on the outcome
of this one !
