I hate to tell you that you have figured it out all wrong. I am a very content and proud Shastikar and Goenkar who is rather successful and wants to give back to Goa. Most of my fellow hockey players, with whom I played top level hockey, are Bardezkars and they know that I have the Very Best Intentions for Goa in Mind when I promote healthy Bardez-Salcete competitiveness for the greater glory of Goa ! Remember Competition is Key to Excellence ! In this highly competitive world there is no place or time for Do Nothing Goenkars like you. May be you should settle in the rather backward talukas of Goa like Sanguem, Sattari or Canacona - even those may be fast paced for you these days ! For your information, I am the proud product of a Jesuit Education and Tradition at St. Stanislaus High School, Bandra. I have studied under the Jesuits and studied them in depth and even extensively toured the Basque areas of NE Spain where the Jesuits originated (Its so advanced and so different from the rest of Spain) - so its not a Shastikar-Jesuit relationship anymore ! I believe my Jesuit education and Upbringing was key to my career success ! If India had only Jesuit Schools in India and Goa, we would have surely been a First World Economy by now ! remember it was a Goan, a Shastikar, and a Stanislite (from St Stanislaus) Ivan Dias of Velsao who narowly lost in the last papal horse race to Pope Benedict ! That won't happen again ever ! The Best way to infuse competitiveness in Goa is through our traditional and mature Bardezkar-Shastikar rivalry, We should be one up on our neighbours Maharashtra and Karnataka, we should tap into our overseas overachiever diaspora (I dont mean underachievers like you who go the Gulf and think they are in heaven !). This competitiveness should extend to all realms of activity - sports, academics, politics, business, etc. Meritocracy should be the name of the game - only then we can truly achieve our ideal of Golden Goa or Goa Dourada ! So what are your ideas for the Greater Glory of Goa ? Best Regards, Dr. Carmo D'Cruz Shastikar, Proud Velkar, Even Mor Proud to Be A Goenkar, Indian Harbour Beach, Florida Message: 1 Date: Tue, 31 Oct 2006 16:28:15 +0300 From: "English books Al-Ahsa" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [Goanet] Only 11 Bishops from Salcete since 1637 ? After all, there are some who already create this with language, devanagri vs roman script. Seems you are not happy to be a Goan, but would prefer to be a proud Sastikar. S You should be proud that Portuguese gave Salcette to the Jesuits. And as far as I know, Jesuits have never been interested in positions, but they have been all out to do missionary work, even to the most remotest place. If salcette had less bishops, than they took lessons from the Jesuits on being better missionaries, and most of the vicars I have met who made sermons more interesting are from Salcette.
