Okay, and we were only recently debating whether people who call the
shots in Goa take what's said on Goanet seriously or not :-)

A couple of observations:

Nice to see the Commissioner for NRI Affairs (or his office) using
this technology called e-mail and the internet. It was long overdue.

Secondly, I think the "who claims to be related to Justice Dourado"
phrase (that originates with my friend, Mr Faleiro, and then gets
reflected in the letter of the Consul General), is more than a little
unfortunate. In a small place like Goa (and the diaspora), we
generally don't make claims about being related to people we are not!
At least not in cyberspace where it is up for public scrutiny for all
time to come.

In any case, we generally accept things, as told. You wouldn't say Mr
Faleiro "claims" to be the "Commissioner for NRI Affairs" or that (an
accreditionless guy like myself, since the Parrikar era) "claims" to
be a journalist! Maybe the Commissioner's Officer hasn't been
following Goans in the diaspora long enough to know who's who, and
who's saying what :-)

Just felt obliged to make a counterpoint. No offence meant.

Over to you Mervyn. FN
