As requested by Canada-based Roland Francis, when I
visited Ballu's place with the Christmas/New Year
gift-package (A kg Swiss cake from Monginis, a bottle
of wine, a home-made bouquet, a Christmas/New Year
card and cash Rs 500/-) a few curious children
followed me to his house.
I gave a one-minute introductory to the whole thing
and presented the gifts to Ballu to the applause of
the little childen and three elderly neighbours
gathered there for this auspicious moment.
Ballu was obviously happy. Asked to say something
Ballu thanked me and the sender of the gifts and said
in Konkani "I am happy to receive recognition from
another part of the world for my humble services. God
bless you."
