This month's Goanet operations sponsored by Mrs. Daisy Faleiro ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To sponsor Goanet operations, contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ever since I set foot in the UK a few months ago, I have been amazed by the general level of awareness people here have about Global Warming and Climate change. Everyone from the Prime Minister to Rockstars are aware of their carbon footprint. Climate related issues are always in the news and the papers. My friend's office even organised a screening of Al Gore's documentary for all 700 employees! Last September, we in Goa experienced almost a whole week of unseasonal rain. The monsoon on the whole was extremely erratic(with heavy rains starting in May). The summers also keep getting warmer. Here in London I read that winter nights have been the warmest since the 1650's. I heard the summer was so hot that they had people distributing refreshments on the Tube because of the large number of people fainting. Can fellow netters in London confirm this? It would be interesting to hear stories of climate change from other parts of India and the world. -- Sunith D Velho [EMAIL PROTECTED]
