In an article in The Asian Age, Feb 9, Pamela D'Mello writes: "With its key
influence over the media, BJP is managing to drive home its point
repeatedly". I am very surprised at this statement. I thought the media in
Goa, unlike other parts in India, is quite unbiased. It is definitely not
the function of the media to be biased towards any one side, either the BJP
or the Congress. Of course, if anyone does something positve, it should be
applauded, even highlighted to serve as a role model for others. But if
anyone does try to harm the society, irrespective of which party or
political ideology he belongs to, the media must come down heavily against
him.

So, if the BJP's points are to be highlighted in a positive way, it should
happen not because it has influence over the media, but because the points
have merit in them.
