The Goa Government has decided that Mr. S.M Paranjape
should hold charge as Chief Inspector of Factories and
Boilers. Mr. Paranjape is currently the most senior
Inspector in the department.

It may be recalled that the Chief Inspector of
Factories and Boilers Mr. Suhas Redkar is currently
under suspension after his blood report had confirmed
presence of alcohol while on duty.

On January 16th, Mr. Redkar was picked up from his
office by Vigilance sleuths and taken for a blood
test.

Following Mr. Redkar’s suspension, Mr. CV Dhume a
retired Chief Inspector of Factories and Boilers had
been lobbying for a come back to the post with the
blessings of Industries Minister Luizinho Faleiro and
some Labour leaders. However the move to bring back
Dhume was strongly opposed by the Goa Chamber of
Commerce and other allied bodies.
