Contact Rosario Fernandes - [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are many goans who have left Goa, sold their property and have migrated in Canada, Australia,United states and now in New Zealand. Many of them are on goanet and are madly in love with Goa and try to crucify this one and that one from abroad. The question is why did you not remain in Goa and develp this land of yours? I know many of my own people who from the gulf jumped to Canada and australia. They had remose for Goa and openly criticised this place. People living in Bombay used to do that in the past. These people thought that when you go abroad you reach heaven. When they went over there they realised the grass is not green. They felt their identity id lost.theywere getting lost because the europeans do not like Indians. They do not even say Hallo to you. They are looking out for any goan and when they meet them they become so happy. We had a cousin of ours living next door. They were very rich and roamed in cars. They never spoke to us and never visited us either. It was just hi and bye. We were very poor. It so happened that my brother got a job to do odd jobs for the hippies. They offered to take him abroad and give him a job. My brother took this opportunity and went over there. It seems these very cousins of ours who did not even look the second time came all the way to hug and kiss my brother and said "Are tum amcho mure, tujo pai ani mujo pai bau mure?" because my cousin was feeling lonely and want another Goan to share his heartfelt sympathies.I had an opportunity to visit my brother to attend his wedding. The place is beautiful but you feel lost. People pass by without hallo, without smile. Once I greeted a foreigner at the railway stand and she told me "We do not talk to strangers." This was an insult to me.Ofcourse some foreigners are nice too. There are exceptions anyway. Has anyone anything to say?
