By now besides his U turns, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is also well known for his notorious double talk and bluffs.
If Caitu and Ticlo were Congress MLAs we can imagine the ruckus that Manohar Parrikar would have created while gunning for their blood. On Parrikar’s birthday, a desperate Caitu was the only MLA to publish an advertisement greeting the Chief Minister. Caitu has to realize that the law is not on his side and nobody can rescue him. For Caitu those thousand of rupees wasted on those advertisements, it would instead have been a better investment on Masses for the dead seeking their forgiveness. Manohar Parrikar has an excuse for anything and everything. Everyone else is to be blamed but himself. If anything goes wrong, it is claimed to be politics against him. The only silver lining is that Goans have now smartened and do not buy his loose talk. On the Caitu issue he had the audacity of claiming that the Caitu in question was another Caitu and not the Benaulim MLA. Has Caitu himself made such a claim in the Election Petition filed against him? A few months ago when the Cuncolim MLA was caught urinating in public in violation of law, the Chief Minister defended the MLA by saying that he was a diabetes patient. What level below the gutter would Manohar Parrikar sink to contradict himself? On the Mayem issue, the Chief Minister now says that he had not promised to solve the issue but had only assured a solution. How absurd? One wonders whether Manohar Parrikar is in a proper state of mind. He seems to have lost his mental balance while losing all his marbles.
