Nothing came out of my contact with Jet. They basically told me the same thing 
what the airport rep said.

This is exactly what I was alluding to - in India they lack skills to keep 
their customers happy. If Indian markets were fully opened up to the West 
(instead of protecting Indian businesses), many Indian businesses would be out 
of biz.

Here is some positive news!
Jet Airways reverted back to me earlier today. Based on the tone of the message 
it appears they are willing to look into the matter about my experience with 
them and help resolve it. I shall keep you updated on the outcome.
