After the long overdue crack down on gross misuse of the red beacon, may be its time the Supreme Court now also intervenes on the crores being squandered from the State exchequer on security cover being provided to politicians.
The Aam Aadmi Party has shown the right way in clamping down on police security to politicians. Hope they maintain this stand. Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar after his swearing in ceremony on March 9th 2012 had also vowed that he did not require any police security. But within a few days it was business as usual. Politicians who for whatever reasons fear for their life should renounce public life and go in hibernation securing themselves with their private security. The heavy police security being given to Narendra Modi is costing the tax payer crores of rupees. His “Vijay Sankalp” rally in Goa on January 12th will see this security cover in full force with Narendra Modi traveling in a bullet proof car. The arrangements for that rally itself is costing crores of rupees which has been all funded by the Casino, Mining and the builders lobby. This money would have brought the much needed relief to the victims of last week’s tragedy at Canacona instead of squandering it on the extravagant Modi rally. All this is besides the official government machinery grossly misused and the rights of those poor farmers at Merces high-handedly trampled on by misusing their fields without their consent. Whatever tricks, gimmicks and manipulation the RSS pracharak Narendra Modi resorts to he will never ever become the Prime Minister of India. People are fully aware that he would be a disaster and doom for the country. Besides being the butcher of Godhra, there are many other compelling reasons why Narendra Modi should never be the Prime Minister of our great nation and take this country further down the tube.
