Sad to know that Hall died last week. One of the best, in fact 'the best", scholar on multiculturalism, he was always a pleasure to read. Having read him in The New Left Review for years and a couple of his essays, including some in Marxism Today, and books I found his ideas of multiculturalism, which was a serious subject in Canada and which I followed closely, very informative.
