Eddie, Pratap Naik sj of the Thomas Stevens Konkanni Kendr has
planted, in the TSKK garden at Alto Porvorim (alongside the Xavier
Centre for Historical Research), some 100+ plants from Goa. He plans
to cover almost every major fruit-bearing/flowering plant from the
region. He has labelled each neatly with their Latin/local (Konkani)
names. Where Konkani names do not exist, he has created names for
some. Will forward this to him to see if he has an answer. You would
know Fr Naik better in the context of being the director of the TSKK
and the livewire behind the Roman Konkani campaign. Expats could learn
from visiting both his institution and its garden. FN
