*Tiatr Day to be celebrated on 4th June.* Every year Tiatr Day is celebrated on 17th April as it was on this day the first Tiatr, *‘Italian Bhurgo’* Was staged at Mumbai on 17th April, 1892. The celebration is organised jointly by Tiatr Academy of Goa and Kala Academy Goa at Kala Academy, Campal, Panaji Goa. Incidentally his year 17th April happened to be Maundy Thursday and also due to the Code of Conduct in view of the Lok Sabha Elections these celebrations could not be held. However it has been decided to have the celebrations on the 4th of June 2014 at the Kala Academy Goa. The celebrations will begin with a get-together of tiatr artistes at the Kala Academy Lawns at 4:00 p.m followed by the formal function at 4:30 p.m. at the D.M.K auditorium. Kala Academy will felicitate six senior tiatr artistes at the hands of the Chief Guest Shri. Francis D’Souza Hon. Dy. Chief Minister of Goa in the presence of tiatr veteran Shri. John Claro, Shri. Joe Rose, Vice-President, TAG, Shri. Prasad Lolayekar, Member Secretary of Kala Academy and other dignitaries. After the formal function the 1st Prize winning Tiatr, ‘Sintidan Paim Ghal Go Bhai’ by Michael Gracias will be presented. All tiatr artistes and tiatr lovers are invited to attend the celebrations in large numbers. *Victor de Sa* *Member Secretary*
