S U B L I M E I N S P I R A T I O N From SANCOALE, remote village. The quiet lad from early age Was consumed by celestial fire Earthly things did not admire.
Thus riven with burning faith He chose a life destined for greater ends. Of gentle mould, he dreamt of a deedful life Giving people of his best in their strife. To quench the burning flame He disdained work bringing fame And left his native shores In dire foreign climes to labour. In the midst of rulers hostile He led a life most fragile Of suppliance and blight To overcome those with might. Barefoot he roamed the domain Stealthily aiding afflicted of the reign As a mendicant to hoodwink tyrants And finally win a battle significant. His memory long will abide To serve as a shining guide As the tide of time rolls on To stand steadfast for one's country. Another notable son of our land Left us sublime footprints Went to a distant people Help them face a bully.. Abstracted from the recently released book of poems “VOICES of PASSION”.
