*Laxmi Prasad move ahead*
Tuff Laxmi Prasad Sports Club overcame Sporting Clube de Goa 2-0 in round eight of Gfa’s Goa Pro League at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Wednesday. Laxmi led 1-0 at the breather. Laxmi had five former Sporting Goa players in their team, namely Freiman Peixote, Prajot Naik, Mackroy Peixote, Mohammed Ali and Valerio Rodrigues, who put up a determined performance against their former employers. Sporting Goa created chances in the midfield, but could not find the killer punch in front of goal. They were badly missing Victorino Fernandes who joined up with the India team recently. Laxmi took the lead just before the lemon break, after Alvito Miranda calmly scooped the ball high over the outrushing Sporting Goa custodian. Changing over, Laxmi sealed the points seven minutes from time, after Nigerian Ndubuisi Opara controlled a cross from substitute Seriton Fernandes to slam the ball home.
