*Sporting Clube de Goa and Mumbai in goalless draw*

Sporting Clube de Goa and Mumbai FC played out a goalless draw in round 5
of the Aiff’s I-League at Cooperage ground, Mumbai on Sunday.

Sporting Goa handed debuts to Sandesh Jhinghan and Miguel Garcia in an
exciting new defensive partnership which patrolled their opponents and kept
them at bay.

Midfielder Brandon Fernandes also made his debut for the Flaming Oranje,
but had to be removed within the opening half an hour after sustaining an
injury in an aerial collision.

Sporting Goa kept good possession in the opening exchanges, but could not
penetrate the stubborn Mumbai defence.

Sporting Goa goalkeeper Ravi Kumar was kept busy in the first half with
Mumbai’s Cletus having two good free kick attempts saved.

Ravi was also called into action to make a save from a Mohammed Rafi header
and later a shot from long range for Mumbai.

Sporting Goa’s best chance fell to Ogba Kalu, who saw his shot whistle just
past the post.

Changing over, Sporting Goa’s Boima Karpeh set up Anthony Wolfe, but he
struck the ball wide of the post. At the other end, Taisuke came close for
Mumbai.

In the end neither team went all out for the kill and seemed to be more
content with getting a point from the game.

Mumbai has now collected 1 point from four matches, while Sporting Goa
moves up to two points from the same number of games.

Sporting Goa goalkeeper Ravi Kumar was awarded the Hero Man-of- the- match
award for his spectacular display under the bar.
